Ha rold's alternate is David Donley and he will be sponsored bv the American Lemion. Cody will he sponsor ed bv the Nfasonj c Lodge and his alter nate is Everett John son. Bruce will be snonsored .by the Grange and his alter nate is Joseph Flana gan. Selection for Boys State is on the basis of leadership, charac ter, integrity, and scholastic standing. Bovs State will be held once more on the campus of Western Fontana Collep-e at Dillon. The dates set are for August 19 through -August’. 2 7 . A p eland Chosen Validictorian , a S e n iors Lead •Honor Roll The seniors led the 5th 6 weeks' honor roll with 10 students. The freshmen were close behind with 9 students •receiving honors. The sophomores were third with 6, followed by the jun iors with 5» The seniors and jun iors were tied with $ each on the honorable mention honor roll. The sophomores placed 5 and. the freshmen placed 2 on the honor able mention honor roll. Seniors on the hon or roll are: Jean A- peland, Ted- Clarke, Gene Ekholt, Michele- Erost, Charles Newton, Faye Quirk, Margaret Stephenson, Dennis Westwood, and Courtney ; Fluid. Juniors are: Marianne Burk, Harold Newton, Cody Stark, Marilyn Tripp, and Bruce Weydemeyer. So phomores are: Marlene Bolen, Elizabeth Finch, Trellice Irwin, Elden Marvel, Monty Stark, and Maria Sto- ken. Freshmen- are: Janet Apeland, Grace Beach, Kathleen Bolen, Mike Flanagan, Gene Haverlandt, Ann Ret- tig, Wilbur Ritter, Wendell Tripp, and Chane Salois. Apeland Wins Feu rth Jeanie Apeland was awarded fourth place state winner on her essay, \Jobs for the Handicapped— A Com munity Challenge\: Ralph A.
