This will mean that eight or 10 LCHS clas ses will have to be e- liminated. Which classes- will be reduced will be a dicision of the LCHS board but subjects not necessary and which can be cut out would be all music, all home economics classes, all commercial classes, public speaking, driv er training, journal ism, shop, and some of the higher math and science courses. Voters of the LCHS high school district will vote on the high school levy at their own district school- houses. 'Districts making up the LCHS high school district are those at Rexford, Tooley Lake, Glen Lake, Eureka, Fortine, Iowa Flats, and Trego. To be eligible to vote on levies, voters must have their names on the last completed assessment rolls. * County Schools Up For Study The schools of Lin coln County are to be the object of a Mon tana State University study which is being financed by the Kel logg Foundation. ... Preliminary,,,.plans for the study were un folded at a meeting of the school heads of the county -and Dr. Richard Smith, of the Foundation; Dr. Vernon Sletten, of the MSU school of education; and Robert Jay, also of the school of educa tion, with the board of the Libby district. The economy, popu lation trends,tax base and school needs of the entire county will be surveyed and pro jections made for the future educational needs of the county both in the fields of buildings and curricu lum. The Kellogg Foundat ion has granted $ 25,000 to MSU to study in the above manner three counties of Montana. Missoula and Lake will probably be the other counties studied according to Dr. Slet ten. Donald R. Boslaugh and Clarence Lee of Eureka attended the meeting. O IsorvWe y demeyer Chosen For G S Ilia Olson and Idell Weydemeyer, with Janet Skelly and Sharon Osier as alternates, were chosen by the faculty of LCHS as delegates to go to Montana Girls' State for 1958. (cont. on p. 17) Let the seniors wash your car Saturday, Mar. 29--LCHS FB field. • The Lincoln County High School students are planning to take over the town govern ment for one day dur ing the month of April* The officers to be elected will be the mayor, four council- men, two from each ward, two policemen, two justices of the peace, a clerk, a treasurer, and a water commissioner. The school will be divided into two wards; East Eureka consisting of senior and freshman classes and West Eureka con sisting of sophomore and junior classes. The school will be divided into two parties. The party or ganization will be ieft to the voters, each must choose at least two watchers. All the people of the school who wish to vote will register previously to the election. Those in the first ward will regis ter in the upper hall and those in the second ward will reg ister in the lower hall. The voters will go through the primary a j i d general elections processes. Those who wish to be nominated fpr the primary may be so nominated by the petition signed by 10 voters. No one may sign , more than one petition except for councilmen.
