S a f e t y P r o g r a m I s S t o r t e d A Hunter Safety Out line Program for Lin coln County is being sponsored by the To bacco Valloy Rod and Gun Club for Eureka, Trego, ' Rexford, and Portine, Thadiaus Wojahowski, county co-ordinator, conducted a mooting for tho instructors, explaining the Out line. This is also being used by tho Co lumbia Palls Rifl.o and Pistol Club and tho Northern Rocky Moun tain ISportsman1 s Asso ciation, This program is open to both boys and girls to toach them the safety and hand ling of fire arms. It is a state law that all children from 12 to 17 years of ago must have this Huntor ertificato if thoy haven't had a big game license before. It will also toach them tho major parts of guns; rifles,shot guns, side arms, care; cleaning and storage of firearms, ammu nition, safety'in tho uso, handling, and storago of ammunition, game identification, hunting sense, and development of good gun handling habits; hunting courtesy, game laws and conser vation regulations, field clothing, and apparel, survival , ^hon lost in the woods) and care of game. Each class takes approximately two hours and there will be four classes in four parts. The instructors aro P a g . Funds for the Scholarships aro con tributed by local chapters of the Order of tho Eastern Star and Individuals throughout tho state of Montana. College students who are interested in applying for a schol arship should contact Mrs. Homer Garrison for information.
