The search engine used on this web site searches OCR-generated text for the word or phrase you are looking for. Please note that OCR is not 100 percent accurate. If the original image is blurry, has extraneous marks, or contains ornate font styles or very small text, the OCR process will produce nonsense characters, extraneous spaces, and other errors, such as those you may see on this page. In addition, the OCR process cannot interpret images and may ignore them or render them as strings of nonsense characters. Despite these drawbacks, OCR remains a powerful tool for making newspaper pages accessible by searching.

This Will require about a six and a half mill levy. This money is needed for operation of the high school, to. make McCauley Reigns As King Jim McCauley, LCHS, basketball coach, wps crowned King of. Hearts., at the Valentine .Dance held on Feb. 15, in the LCHS gym. The dance was put on by the senior class and Margaret Shea, class president, in troduced v the .cand idates and crowned the King at 11:15. The other candidates were Darrell Pitman-senior, Marvin Senne-junior, and Dexter horn, freshman. Records provided the music for the dance. Salter Ambrose Are Engaged Mr. and Mrs. Richard Henry Salter of Phoe nix, Ariz. announced the -engagement of their daughter, Mary Alice,. to William Donnell Ambrose of Can- oga Park, California, son of Mrs. Anne Am brose of 'Eureka and the late William Am- . brose. The bride to be is a senior at Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angels. She is the president of Lamada Lota Iaa, Literature honorary, and a mem ber of Alpha Mu Gamma, language honorary. Miss Salter is listed in the 1955-58 Who's Who in American Uni versities and Colleges. Her fiance has a B„ S. in chemical engineer ing from Washington State College in Pull man and a M.B.A. from Harvard Graduate (Cont.,on page 10) RG Club Sponsors Safety Course The Rod and Gun Club of Eureka is going to sponsor the safety hunting course which is now required \for young hunters to get -a big game license. The . law now says that if you are under 18, you must either show,..proof of last year's license or must take the safe ty course and be able to present a certifi cate to the person selling the licenses. They held an intro ductory meeting Wed nesday, Feb. 5, at the high school. Thad Woj- ciechowski, county tension agent; Dalton Wellman, Game Warden, and several Rod and Gun Club members ex plained the program, and a movie was shown. Darriel Calvert Enters LCHS. LCHS welcomes Darriel Calvert who transferred here on Feb. l5, from Great Falls. , Darriel is a junior and is taking American History, English 3 , Typing, and Public Speaking. Darriel says, \It's a lot different, but it's o k :\- . needed improvements and repairs, and to give the teachers the annual salary incre ment. . The board also voted to offer contracts to all of the present teaching staff, with the salaries to be set after \ the levy has been voted upon. The members also read several letters of application for the assistant secretary position which is be ing vacated by A* L„ Hanson. No selection was made to fill the job. The “secretary was instructed to adver tise for bids for all : of the s ix high school bus runs. Each bidder to submit a bid for a three year contract and one , for a five year contract.
